License types

For individual users and installation on workstations (PCs / laptops) there are available so-called client licenses:
Named User – for a specific user and
Concurrent User – A floating network license that is not tied to a specific user.

For enterprise systems, a Client-Server license is available, for which we can arrange the entire implementation process.

Named User

The license is intended for a specific user and an unlimited number of workstations (so you can have the program installed on both your home computer and your work computer at the same time).
This license may not be used as a shared license between multiple users.
Each user is therefore obliged to have their own software license.

Who is it for:

This type of license is used worldwide in research facilities, laboratories, small companies, etc. It can be used wherever there is only one end user. It is very popular on campus for individual students, teachers, or researchers.

Concurrent User

The license is intended for non-specific users and an unlimited number of workstations, especially for use in workplaces with a larger number of users, among which the license floats. In practice, therefore, the number of users who can work with the software under this licence is unlimited.
The number of licenses purchased determines the maximum number of users using the program at the same time at one point in time.
This license is intended to be used as a shared license between multiple users.

The purpose of the network licence is to allow flexible use of Statistica software for a wide range of workstations within the institution. The software can be installed on any number of workstations connected by a local network.

For whom it is intended

This license is used in companies in various fields of human activity where there are multiple users – banking, industry, research, marketing, utilities, etc. It is also widely used in research institutions across research teams and departments, in universities within departments or entire faculties. It is very popular in university classrooms, where this type of license allows comfortable and convenient administration. With this type of license, you can combine individual software products and purchase a configuration based on exactly how the software will be used. The cost of licences can therefore be optimised according to the needs and number of users.

This type of license consists of installing a networked Statistica server, which can be an average computer. The floating license allows the following method of launching Statistica:

  • From the Statistica server, any number of client stations are installed from the shared directory. The maximum number of concurrent users is determined by the number of licenses purchased. A complete software installation is installed on the client computer by default. This type of installation is called a BNET (Borrowing network) and allows you to temporarily disconnect the client computer from the license server. The license can be rented for up to 30 days. So the user can have a working Statistica software e.g. on a laptop during a business trip.

Calculations are performed on client stations. However, the client station can also be a powerful server in the company.
