Reinstalling a workstation

If Statistica cannot be launched on the workstation, make sure that the Statistica software is launchable on the computer serving as the server (the Statistica License Manager service is running on the server, the license file is not corrupted, etc.) and that the Statistica folder on the server is shared. (C:Program FilesStatistica).Note: installation on the local workstation is performed under an administrator account.

Procedure:

  1. In Add or Remove Programs on the relevant local workstation, remove all Statistica installations including Statistica Version Manager, if it is installed.
  2. In the location C:Users<user_name>AppDataRoaming delete the Statistica folder (if it is present).
Note: You need to enable the display of hidden files and folders: http://bit.ly/tipy_pro_pc.
  3. Restart this workstation.
  4. Make sure that no other applications are running.
  5. Locate the shared location you created when installing the server part.
  6. Run the setup.exe file from the Workstation Installer subdirectory on the server. Note: If the local PC runs Windows 7, right-click the setup.exe file and run it as Administrator.
  7. A welcome window will appear. Click the Next button.
  8. Select I accept the terms of the license agreement and click the Next button.
  9. In the installation type selection dialog, choose either Typical or Custom and click the Next button. The Typical option installs the Statistica system with the most common accessories. This option is recommended. Do not install the floating license manager on the local workstation when prompted. Note: We do not describe the "Custom" installation procedure here; if you have any questions about this type of installation, do not hesitate to contact Statistica technical support.
  10. Click the Next button.
  11. If the multimedia overviews were installed on the server, a dialog will appear for choosing to install these overviews on the workstation's hard drive. These are videos providing an overview of the individual functionalities of the Statistica system. We recommend agreeing to the installation of these files if you have enough space on your hard drive.
  12. In the Folder dialog in the Start menu, enter the name of the item in the Start menu; by default Statistica <version number>. If you want to create an application shortcut, select the Create a desktop shortcut for the program. Click the Next button.
  13. The Statistica installer is ready to install the workstations. Clicking the Install button copies all the necessary files to the computer.
  14. The system is then updated and the necessary client workstation files are installed. Click the Finish button.
  15. If any version conflict message appears, we recommend keeping the existing files (click the Yes button). If system files on the workstation need to be updated, the computer will need to be restarted for the installation process to complete successfully. After the installation completes successfully, a window with Statistica application shortcuts will appear.
  16. Launch the Statistica software on the workstation.
