Since the maker of Statistica does not support any installation environment other than Microsoft Windows, practically the only and most feasible way is to install the virtualization software Oracle VirtualBox, then create a virtual Microsoft Windows environment, and subsequently install Statistica in this virtual environment.
The VirtualBox application is a fairly simple application with a pleasant user interface and is provided completely free of charge. After launching, you are greeted by the main screen, where the already installed virtual machines are on the left and the details of the individual virtual machines are on the right (details, properties, settings, etc.)
To install a virtual PC, you need to use the installation media of the given operating system, in our case Microsoft Windows, either as an installation DVD or a disk image, a so-called ISO file. It is up to the user which installation medium they obtain, or which they already own. When installing a virtual PC, a file several GB in size is created on the computer on which VirtualBox is installed; this file represents the virtual PC (the virtual disk), i.e. Microsoft Windows in our example. The location of this file is up to each user, but the easiest option is to keep the virtual disk location setting offered by the installation wizard.
